Bear Lake Rocky Mountain National Park Engagement Shoot

Bear Lake Rocky Mountain National Park Engagement Shoot

Check out this Bear Lake engagement shoot in Rocky Mountain National Park! Winter time is one of the best times to be in Rocky Mountain National Park because all the lakes are frozen which gives us so much more space to take photos for your engagement session. Summer time is also an incredibly special and beautiful time to visit the park, but you’re limited to the trails and narrow paths surrounding the lakes. When the lakes freeze over in the winter, you have vantage points and views from the center of the lake that you’d never get in the summer from the edge of the lakes!

The Best Frozen Lakes in Rocky Mountain National Park

Imagine standing on the shore of a lake, surrounded by snow-covered peaks, and seeing the entire surface frozen solid. It’s like stepping into a winter wonderland straight out of a storybook. I swear, the sight of those icy expanses took my breath away.

Dream Lake in Rocky Mountain National Park

One of my favorite spots was Dream Lake. Aptly named, right? Picture this: the trail winding through frosted forests and snow-kissed meadows, leading you to a shimmering expanse of ice that reflects the surrounding mountains like a mirror. Trust me, it’s a sight you’ll never forget.

Emerald Lake in Rocky Mountain National Park

But wait, it gets even better. Have you heard of Emerald Lake? It’s like the crown jewel of Rocky Mountain National Park’s frozen lakes. The trail to Emerald Lake takes you past Nymph Lake and Dream Lake, each more stunning than the last, until you finally arrive at this breathtaking alpine oasis. The water is the most incredible shade of emerald green, and in winter, it’s completely frozen over, creating a scene that’s straight out of a fairy tale.
